Alexis Vincente Maldonado, Wichita Falls, Texas
ANNOUNCING THE NEW NORTH TEXAS PGR NOTIFICATION SYSTEM!
A Unique Thank You To The PGR.
My name is Jeremy Callahan. I'm a 21 year old college senior who enlisted in the
Infantry and is
now going through Texas Christian University's Army ROTC program so I can get my
commission. I've never had
an opportunity to interact with your organization, but today I had the honor.
It sent shivers down my spine...
Your organization is something
else, guys and girls out there that do what you do, honoring our fallen with the
utmost respect.
God Bless, Stay Safe, and Thank You!
Cadet Major Callahan,
(VMERG) Veteran Military Employee Resource Group
FROM THE MIKE HAISAN MISSION
I had emailed you last week in regards to Mr. Mike Haisan and his services. I was very impressed at the quick response I
received. Mr. John had called me within 2 hours and between your organization and Mr. John, he already had all the information needed. This made our experience even easier, all the tough questions already had answers to them, and it was one less thing me and my family had to worry about.
There was never a doubt in my mind that the Patriot Guard would come through for us, but their service cannot be matched. I only expected your organization to ride with us to the cemetery. However, the Patriot Guard was actually at the funeral home even before the family, held the door open for each person entering and leaving the funeral home, took pictures, and so much more.
I also remember the respect each rider gave to each other. However, one rider in particular stood out. I do not know his name, but I will never forget his act. As our procession pulled into lane A at the cemetery, there was already a procession in lane C. As lane C began to process to their shelter, this particular rider stood in the median under a tree and saluted the family and friends of the deceased until all cars has passed. This gentleman made a big impression on me and it means a lot knowing there are people out there that will take the time to honor our vets.
Again, thank you for the services your organization provided for my family. If there is anything I can do to help your organization by a donation of my time, please do not hesitate to ask, it would be my honor.
Tiffany Dawson

We had an excellent turnout to honor this young man and his family. We have gotten several remarks as to how beautiful the flags were at the church and cemetery. I also have to thank our Wichita Falls ride captains for
their assistance on this difficult mission. And several ride captains from other areas really were a blessing, just doing what needed done and working hard to help pull this mission off. It was good to meet Pappy, the Oklahoma State captain who rode in with several other of our Oklahoma brothers. Special thanks to Ted, Tex, Joe, Mike L, Dave G, David R, Larry and Barbara. And thanks again to all you riders who came from miles away to participate in this mission!

My first mission went not as well as I would have liked, but it did go without too many flaws. (I'm learning)
A large turnout for the service, lots of military were on hand.
The grave side service was quite large. The family was very grateful for what we do.

This Was An East Texas Mission, But FOUR States Were Represented: Oklahoma (Lead By State Captain
Don "Pappy" Papin), Louisiana, Arkansas, And Texas.
With riders from four states; Ar, Tx, Ok, La and a contingent of the Banshee club. Sgt Stout was interred with Military honors. I cannot express how much I, and I know Ken McClure, appreciate the help that we received this past week: The LEOs from Texarkana Texas and Arkansas, Wake Village and Nash Texas; The Staff of TAC AIR that provided water and invaluable support along with the Airport security detail made the mission a success. George Deloach was able to contact the Texarkana Rotary club who came out and provided flags for Kings Highway and the cemetery. I want to thank Hutch Hutchison from La, JC White, Jim Ray, Mike Eubanks and Judy, George Deloach, Don Papin, and the Okla. crew and everyone else that came out and pitched right in. The Ride Captains from all four states went to work and pulled this mission off. I know that I have forgotten someone but please excuse my old Timers disease and know that You all are appreciated beyond words.
God Bless you all Above is the mission complete report from Don Nix, the Ride Captain for the Texarkana mission yesterday. I might add that the Ride Captains working together did and excellent job and the family treating the PGR to lunch after the service was a big help getting the riders cooled down before the rides home. One of the things that worked very well, in the heat, is they sent about half the riders out with flags to form the flag line, about every 10 minutes the others would relieve those standing and so on. No one stood on the line longer than was safe. I counted roughly 75 bikes a huge improvement over the 18 at the escort. I want to personally thank the riders from Idabell who represented us at the Escort and the guys and gals, especially Becky, who brought the water in her cage, a real God send, from Durant, Madil, Sherman and Paris who rode with me to honor this hero yesterday. A fantastic ride going there but more than a bit warm returning.........I not sure if pouring purchased, iced down, bottled water over ones head is what it was meant for, but it works:) Also at every mission there is something new, I have never seen the Army honor Guard perform like they did yesterday, very impressive. Thank you Mostly to Sgt Stout and his family for their sacrifice.

We had 5 riders escort the family to the church. The rest of us stood the flag line, for our fellow brother. When the family arrived, James asked his daughter, Tonya, (Lance's wife) to stop for a minute before entering the church. As she did the Patriot Guard Riders Left the flag line and formed a half circle in front of her and the family. Then we presented the PGR plaque to Tonya. Tears were shed, she thanked us and we went back to the flag line. Thank you to all the riders, for the support you have shown our fellow PGR family. Mission accomplished.
On Behalf of the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders. Tonya, Erna, James and family. Our love and prayers are with you always.

Lost Battalion Reunion
|
||||||||||||
We visited with these hero's and the family's in the hotel lobby before the memorial service. What a once in a lifetime moment that was for us all. Then we stood a flag line for the memorial service, and posted the colors. We also had a Soldiers Cross set up right outside the hotel door. And that brought many a tear while pictures were being taking. As I understand it. Their are 27 of these Hero's left. Of that number Eight were able to make it to this reunion. May you all be at the next reunion. Thanks to all you riders who come to these missions and make this all possible. I don't know how to put in words what my heart feels like when you think about these men being POW's for over 12 hundred days. Humiliation, Physical and Mental Torture, Starvation, were just some of the things that these hero's faced daily. So when I was shaking their hand, and looking in their eyes, I can only hope that they saw the sincerity in my eyes, when I was telling them thank you for your service, and my freedom. What a honor it was to talk with these hero's and the family members, who are keeping the history of the Lost Battalion Alive. Thank you Joe & Pat for inviting us.
Mission accomplished.

Today we had two buses to get the
Riders to the terminal, but filled up just one. It was great to
have buses supplied by both American Airlines & DFW Airport.
With 31 PGR and about 13 from The American Airlines VMERG, there were over 40 total attending the Planeside Honor & respect. In the Gate area Deputy State Captain Mike Lambert assembled a banner of flags. Included were American Flag, POW/MIA Flag, KIA Flag and the PGR flag. The Flags were attached to the stanchions at the gate entrance to show Honor & Respect for CWO. Donald Wann and his daughter Shannon Plaster. We also used the banner planeside held with Pride & Honor by our Riders. Shannon Plaster is an avid activist for the POW/MIA cause to bring attention to those who are not accounted for. The banner was not only a show of respect for her father, but also one for Shannon for her support of POW/MIAs. The PGR presented a plaque to Shannon Plaster for the Wann family in the gate area for all to see. Tonya Pinkos, American Airlines VMERG announced over the PA at the gate, the reasons we were all there to send our fallen brother home. At that time the gate area broke out into applause. All PGR & American Airlines VMERG, U.S. Army Warrant Officer Escort and U.S.A.F. Honor Guard from NAS Carswell provided planeside Honor & Respect in the rain. It was a fitting Farwell to our brother in arms. After CWO Wann was loaded onto the aircraft, every one proceeded to the Airport Terminal C Sky Link Station. There we were were able to view the DFW Fire Department's Water cannon salute provided by two very large Fire Trucks as the aircraft taxied out to the runway. A very fitting North Texas send off for our Hero on his way home from a very long journey. We would like to thank all of our Riders who showed up on such short notice. Would also like to Thank Deputy State Captain Mike Lambert, Assistant State Captain Dewy Dyer, Senior Ride captains Floyd Kammerer , Randy Roberts, Ride Captain John Blase and the DFW Airport's Chaplains for their much appreciated help & support for one of the Best Missions for DFW Special Operations at DFW Airport. Thank you all. We would like to thank The Wann Family, Especially Ms. Shannon Wann Plaster for allowing us to provide the Honor & Respect send off for her father C.W.O. Donald Wann . Chief Warrant Officer 2,
Donald Wann USA/USN/MIA, flew his last Mission today.
Our brothers and sisters in Texas rendered him the honor
and respect earned long ago and saw to his proper
departure from their fair state to ours. The ambulance and family
vehicles were ushered in the security gate, along with a
number of American Airlines volunteers (including AVMC
members employed by AA) who had clearance to go out on
the tarmac and form a flag line at the plane. |

We staged at the funeral home in Waxahachie and set a flag line for the visitation and funeral. There were two new riders signed up. After the briefing we manned the flag line to welcome family and friends. As the service started we broke down the flags and prepared for the ride to DFW National Cemetery. Passed a golf course in route and players stopped playing and removed their caps in a show of respect. We arrived at DFW National and proceeded to shelter A where Floyd "1stShirt" Kammerer had the flag line set up. Thanks to "Wild Bill" for flags and water at the funeral home and thanks to Larry for water at DFW National.
A very special thanks to all the riders who make this all possible.
So many thanks to the family for asking the PGR for asking us to participate in this Marine veterans interment. The PGR is always honored to be included.

Captain East died in a plane crash on August 8, 2010. His funeral service was in Armory, Mississippi, where he grew up and burial was on the family farm in Armory. He lived in Wichita Falls, TX, with his wife and daughter and worked for Air Tractor as a test pilot. His Father-in-law is the President of Air Tractor. Air Tractor wanted to have a memorial for his Air Tractor family and for friends and family that were not able to make it to his service in Mississippi. We were asked to line the road going up to Air Tractor with flags and stand a flag line in front of the building to welcome the family to the memorial. Air Tractor is located about 5 miles outside of Olney, TX. We sent 3 big flag bikes to escort the family to the Air Tractor facility for the memorial. Upon their arrival, they were presented with a PGR certificate honoring Captain East's service to our country.
We were honored to be asked by Air Tractor to be at this Memorial Celebration for Captain East and they seemed please by our presence.
Our ride captains for this mission (Ted "Frosty" Foster and Ray "Tex" Calvert) did an awesome job! Thanks guys!
