North Texas Patriot Guard Riders Calendar

When Riding In An Escort, ALWAYS Follow The Instructions Given By The Ride Captain. GENERALLY, We Ride In A STAGGERD FORMATION, Keeping A 2-Second Interval Behind The Bike In Front Of You And A 1-Second Interval Between You And The Bike To Your Right Or Left In Front Of You. DO NOT CHANGE LANE POSITION. If You Find Your Position Has Changed, Move Up Or Back - Do NOT Zig-Zag! DO NOT Move Up Next To Another Rider, Unless It Is To Fill An Empty Hole In Front Of Him. Riders Must Know That The Space To Their Right Or Left Is Open So They Can Manuver Around Road Hazzards And Other Unexpected Incidents. When You Ride Beside Someone, Even For A Few Seconds, The Other Rider's Attention Is Diverted From From His Own Position To Yours.

    IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

FIRST RUN - NEW, TEXAS WINDSHIELD BANNERS

We Have Them!  They are not as great as we would like them to be, but it is a first run of something we think will improve over time.  If the logistics work out, they should be available at the Plano parade.  They are the static cling type that stick to the outside of your windshield.  Also available in the near future will be static cling banners that stick to the INSIDE of your windshield.

Since these are a first run, the prices will be the lowest you may see and the quantities are very limited.

Get yours now, or wait for version II in a few weeks.

    "ALWAYS THERE"

“The Patriot Guard is always there.”

    Waxahachie
    Independence Day Parade

Date:   07/04/2009 Place: Waxahachie Staging: 08:30

This year’s July 4 parade is again a part of the Crape Myrtle Festival held annually in Waxahachie.  Another great crowd should be on hand and this is another fine opportunity for the PGR to meet the public and let them see who we are and tell them what we do.

    Part 1 – Parade:  Saturday, July 4th – 10:00 AM
    Staging – 8:30 AM; Briefing – 8:45 AM; Parade Lineup – 9:00 AM; KSU – 10:00 AM

We will meet in the parking area on the WEST side of the elementary school and then ride the short distance to the parade staging area for our assigned spot in the parade.  The parade route is scheduled to be south on College to Main St., then west to Grand, then south to Getzendaner park.

    Plano Parade
    Independence Day Parade
Honoring the United States of America

    Date:   07/04/2009 Place:
Plano Senior High School Parking Lot
    2200 Independence Parkway
    Plano, TX
    Staging: 06:30

In the 2008 parade the Traveling Liberty Bell and the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders were awarded the "Grand Marshall Award".  This is the number one award given to participants in this parade.  The parade officials were so impressed with the riders and the flags during the lineup that the NTPGR was moved from 88th position to the second in the parade.  Riding just in front of David Hall and the Liberty Bell seemed to be just the right place. This is an excellent opportunity to introduce the PGR to those in the community who may not have been exposed to the cause we stand for.  This is the one day of the year that most Americans will stand up and wave the American flag.  We could not pick a better day to demonstrate our patriotism to the public.

    Part 1 – Parade:  Saturday, July 4th – 9:00 AM
    Staging – 0630 AM; Briefing – 06:45 AM; Parade Lineup – 07:00 AM; KSU – 09:00 AM

We will set up our parade formation, big flag bikes followed by all other bikes in the line position designated by the parade officials.  Once the bikes are in formation, we will do all that we can to hydrate.  I want to try an impress on each rider the importance of hydration the night before.  The weather will be hot, the bikes will be hot and this would not be the time to end up lying on the hot pavement.  During this hot weather it is as important to drink plenty of water but do not forget Gator-aid type drinks to increase your body’s electrolytes.  Do not forget your sun screen.

    Royse City, TX
    Staging: 17:30

We have been invited again this year to the Royce City 4th of July parade.  This is an evening parade when the sun is lower in the sky and is only about a half-mile long.  The parade is led each year by the Tri-County Veteran Honor Guard and they have asked us to join them in leading the parade, a very prestigious position and a great honor.  We shared this honor with them last year and they have invited us back.  In the invitation they said that last year the PGR “made the parade a huge success.”

    Part 1 – Parade:  Saturday, July 4th – 6:00 PM
    Staging – 5:30 PM

We will meet in the parking area of the church and locate Mr. Gene Allen and the Tri-County Veteran Honor Guard and line up with them for the parade.
