Lee Hartley gave his life on 08 APR 08 in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City
w:st="on">Khargullah</st1:City>, <st1:country-region
w:st="on">Iraq</st1:country-region></st1:place> when his mounted patrol was hit
by an IED. During his funeral, it was discovered that he had a mother who had
adopted him that was previously unknown to the US Army. Therefore, the flag was
presented to his birth parents. The US Army is now delivering another flag which
is to be presented to Mrs. Carol A. Hartley, who adopted and raised Jeffery. The
PGR has been asked to participate in this presentation.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
